Dean’s Fellows Scholarship

The Dean’s Fellows awards are full-tuition scholarships available to full-time applicants who possess a record of extraordinary scholarly achievement and leadership, have a demonstrated commitment to community through volunteerism, public service or civic activities, and show strong potential to be leaders during and after law school.

Overview

The Dean’s Fellows awards are full-tuition scholarships available to full-time applicants who:

  • possess a record of extraordinary scholarly achievement and leadership

  • have a demonstrated commitment to community through volunteerism, public service or civic activities

  • show strong potential to be leaders during and after law school

Scholarships are renewable each year if the recipient is in good academic standing.

In addition to receiving a monetary award, Dean's Fellows awards also include the following:

  1. $1,500 educational stipend

  2. Networking opportunities with Dean's Fellows alumni

  3. One-on-one meetings with the Dean

  4. The opportunity to work as a faculty research assistant

Public Service Component

Quinnipiac University School of Law is dedicated to serving the surrounding community through public service, volunteerism and civic activities. In support of this, Dean's Fellows make a commitment to complete a total of 30 hours of service work over their three years at the law school. This requirement can be satisfied through work in the community, through a student organization's public service requirement or by serving as an Admissions Ambassador.

Academic Guidelines

Recent recipients of these prestigious awards typically fell within the following academic credential ranges:

  • Undergraduate cumulative GPA: 3.3 - 4.0

  • LSAT score: 155 - 172

How to Apply

A complete application, including LSAT score and writing sample, must be received by February 1. February 2025 LSAT scores will not be considered. Applicants to the School of Law that have applied by this deadline will automatically be considered for the Dean’s Fellows Scholarship.

To become a candidate for a Dean's Fellows Scholarship, please address the reasons why you should be considered for the award in your application for law school admission. You should include:

  • previous leadership experience

  • scholarly pursuits

  • civic and volunteer activities

  • plans for what you hope to do with your law degree

An additional essay may be submitted.

Finalists for Dean’s Fellows will be invited to participate in selection interviews and a special program designed to introduce them to our academic offerings, and to meet with faculty, students and deans. This program will take place in late March. To be eligible for a Dean’s Fellows award, finalists must attend this program.
